Hit 500 wheel trues in one season, still can't beat my own record
Back in March I started counting every wheel I trued at the shop in Austin, mostly out of boredom. By October I hit 500, which felt like a lot until I realized about 60 of those were the same commuter's rear wheel that kept bending on potholes. The number mattered because it showed how much time I spend on spoke tension versus actual riding. Anyone else keep a running tally of a specific repair and surprise themselves with the total?

Man, I feel this. I did the same thing with flat fixes one year and hit 380 tubes, but like 70 of them were one guy who kept riding through the same glass patch on his route. What helped me was splitting my tally into two columns, repeat wheels and new ones, so I could actually see how much was real work versus the same problem coming back. That made the number way less depressing and way more useful.
