Why does nobody talk about how noisy some grinders are?

I stopped by a friend's place in Portland last Saturday and he pulled out this old manual grinder he got at a thrift store. Took maybe 4 minutes to grind 20 grams of beans but it was totally quiet. I've been using my electric one for 2 years and never realized how much noise it adds to my morning routine. Has anyone else switched to manual just for the quiet factor?

Totally agree. I swore by electric until I tried my friend's quiet manual and it changed my mind completely.
