Switched from a blade grinder to a burr grinder six months back and wow

I used to just grab my $15 blade grinder from the grocery store and pulse it until the beans looked fine enough. Got a Baratza Encore in March after reading a thread here and it's a completely different ballgame. The coffee tastes way cleaner and I don't get those random chunks that made my drip brew bitter. Anyone else have a gear change that felt like night and day?

Oh man, tell me about it. I did the exact same thing except I went from a cheap blade grinder to a hand crank burr grinder because I was too cheap for a Baratza. Let me tell you, that first morning I ground beans fresh by hand, I felt like a total coffee snob. It took me like 5 minutes of cranking and I thought my arm was gonna fall off, but the coffee was so smooth I didn't even care. Now I can't go back to those blade grinders, they just pulverize everything into dust and sadness.
