That $12 vacuum sealer from the checkout aisle was a money pit
Picked up one of those cheap vacuum sealers at the dollar store checkout last month. Figured it would pay for itself since I buy bulk meat at the wholesale club. First use it barely pulled a vacuum, second use the heating strip died mid-seal. Lost half a pack of chicken breasts to freezer burn before I tossed the thing. The bags alone cost me $9 and they weren't even the right size for my cuts. Ended up spending $38 on a decent sealer from the hardware store that actually works. Anyone else fall for the cheap sealer trap or do you have a brand that's held up for years?
