Thought that $3 'broken' iPod Classic from a Tacoma garage sale was a scam, turned out to be a 15 minute fix
I figured the seller was dumping a dead brick on me but for 3 bucks I rolled the dice anyway. Got it home, plugged it into my 2009 MacBook, and it booted right up in disk mode, the drive was just corrupted. A fresh restore in iTunes and it has been holding 4,000 songs for the past 2 months with no issues. Anyone got a line on where to grab a cheap replacement battery for these things, since this one dies after about 90 minutes off the charger?
How did you score a working iPod for the price of a coffee? That's wild. The battery thing is easy though, just search for a replacement kit on eBay. Mine ran about 12 bucks and came with the little tools you need to pop the case open.
