Rant: everyone says old ThinkPads are tanks, but the T440s I got from eBay had a swollen battery that bent the trackpad
I picked up a T440s for $85 on eBay back in February because the internet swears these things are indestructible. When it arrived the trackpad was bulging up and I found the original 2013 battery had swollen so bad it pushed the whole palm rest out of shape. I opened it up and measured the gap at almost 6 millimeters. Has anyone else run into swollen batteries on these older machines, and is it even worth replacing or should I just run it plugged in forever?
