PSA: that 'dead' CRT from the curb in Cleveland was just a blown pico fuse
I used to swear every curb-find TV needed a full recap, but a repair guy at a swap meet in Cleveland popped the back off one and showed me a $0.60 pico fuse that was the whole problem. I've now fixed 4 out of 6 free TVs with just that fuse and a multimeter, so check the fuse before you order a $20 cap kit. What's the dumbest cheap part that's saved a piece of gear for you?
