My 2005 netbook runs Slackware better than my new laptop runs Windows

I found an old Asus Eee PC at a thrift shop in Portland for 12 bucks. Figured it was a paperweight, but I wiped it and threw on Slackware 14.2 with a lightweight window manager. Thing boots in under 45 seconds and handles terminal work, light web browsing, even some retro gaming. Meanwhile my 2023 laptop takes 3 minutes to boot and eats RAM just idling. Guess my skepticism about old hardware was backwards. Has anyone else found a modern distro that breathes new life into a tiny machine like this?
