I was holding my clippers wrong for three whole years

It hit me last month when a regular, a guy named Mike, pointed at my hand and said, 'Your thumb is doing all the work, man.' I was doing a skin fade, and I realized my whole grip was off. I had my fingers wrapped too tight around the body, using just my thumb to push the lever. My wrist would get sore after a few cuts, and my fades were never as smooth as I wanted. I watched a video from a barber in Chicago (I can't remember his name) who showed how to cradle the clipper with your whole hand, using your palm and fingers to move it. I tried it the next day, and the difference was crazy. My hand didn't hurt, and the blend was way cleaner. Has anyone else had a basic grip issue they fixed way later than they should have?

Bro but is the grip really that deep? @sage_lewis10 has a point, three years is a lot.
