A customer said my clippers were 'too loud' and it hit different

Some guy in his 40s sat down last Thursday and flinched every time I fired up the Wahl corded I've used for 5 years. He told me barbers who don't invest in quieter tools are stuck in the past, which felt like a jab at my whole setup. Anyone else get pushback on tool noise, or is this just a city thing in Portland?

...and my buddy who cuts hair out in Gresham had a client literally cover his ears one time and ask if they could stop halfway through. He switched to a cordless and the same guy still complained, just about the buzz vibration instead. I guess some folks just want the whole shop to feel like a spa, which is fine, but you can't please everyone with the same tool.
