Tomato math changed after checking an old seed packet
I saved seeds from a farmers market Roma two years back and figured they'd be fine, then my neighbor handed me a 2008 packet that said most hybrids don't come true and I nearly choked on my coffee. Turns out my balcony harvest last summer gave me three totally different tomato shapes off one plant, which explains why my salsa looked like a chunky mess. Anyone else ever grow out saved seeds and get surprised by the mutants?

The part about your neighbor's 2008 packet saying most hybrids don't come true is what got me, because I never even thought about seed age being a thing. Three different tomato shapes off one plant is wild though, that means your Roma was probably a hybrid all along and the seeds split back into whatever its parents were. That salsa must have been a real guessing game every bite.
