Unpopular opinion: I used to think self checkout was a fad, then a cashier in Reno proved me wrong
She scanned my 40 items in under a minute while the machine next to us was screaming about an unexpected item in the bagging area. Anyone else notice the robots got better right when we all gave up on them?
40 items in under a minute is wild. That's basically one item every 1.5 seconds. I worked retail in high school and even the fastest cashier I knew needed at least two minutes for a cart that size, and that was with the barcode scanner actually cooperating. Either this woman was running on pure spite for the machine next to her, or Reno has secret super cashiers.
