I finally switched back to paper maps after my GPS lied to me in rural Ohio

My phone sent me down a gravel road that dead-ended at a locked gate outside Chillicothe last Tuesday, so I dug out an old gas station map and it got me home in one try. Anyone else keep a physical backup after a navigation app pulled something like that?

Three different times this month my phone routed me around traffic that wasn't there, just to put me behind a school bus. It's like the apps are so busy being clever they forget the basic job is to get you somewhere. Paper maps don't have a point to prove.
