DAE find that turning off auto-updates made my laptop slower, not faster?

Tbh I disabled auto-updates on my Windows machine in Grand Rapids to stop the random reboots, but now everything feels laggier after about a week. I thought skipping those background patches would free up resources, but now I'm stuck on a buggy driver that eats 30% CPU. Has anyone else dealt with this weird tradeoff where manual updates just make things worse?

Did you check if the new driver is the one eating CPU? Roll it back.
