Serious question, did anyone else figure out that starting bad movie night with the worst 10 minutes of a movie hooks your friends way better than a good trailer?

I used to spend 20 minutes doing a whole sales pitch on why we should watch Troll 2 or Samurai Cop, and my friends would just scroll their phones. Last Friday I stopped explaining anything and just put on the first 10 minutes of Miami Connection cold, no intro, no warning. By the time the bar fight with the ninjas started, two people who never join anything were leaning forward asking if we could restart it so they could pay attention. Now I pick one scene that makes no sense out of context and let it run, and the group pretty much invites themselves. What scene do you use as your opener when nobody wants to commit to a full movie?
