My buddy roasted my zip tie habit and now I use velcro straps
Last week my friend helped me move my desk and saw every cable was secured with like 20 zip ties. He said 'dude, you're going to hate yourself next time you swap a monitor.' He was right - I switched to velcro straps from Amazon, $12 for 50, and now I can reroute my HDMI cable in 2 minutes instead of cutting plastic.

Man, did you toss all the zip ties or keep a few for emergencies?

My zip ties are in that drawer that's like a junk graveyard now. I kept about 4 for emergencies because I'm a hoarder at heart, but the rest went in the recycling bin. Honestly, the first time I used a velcro strap I felt like I was betraying some inner cable management code. But now I'm that guy who buys velcro in bulk and gives it to friends like it's a secret handshake. It's a slippery slope from zip ties to velcro, then you start color coding everything and next thing you know you're judging people's TV setups at parties.
