Why did it take me 4 months to realize my rooster was a hen
Got two chicks last spring, named them Biscuit and Gravy, and Gravy started crowing at 5am every single day, so I figured he was just a loud boy. Then last week Gravy laid an egg right in the nesting box while I was cleaning it out, and I stood there for a solid minute just staring at the thing. Anyone else have a bird that pulled a full identity switch on them, or am I the only one who never checked for the saddle feathers?

Yeah the saddle feathers thing got me too, mine was 6 months before she dropped an egg in the feed bucket.
