Spent $85 on a heated waterer that froze solid in 3 nights
Bought one of those fancy heated poultry waterers at Tractor Supply back in January because I was tired of hauling warm water out twice a day. It worked great for about 3 nights, then we hit single digits here in central Illinois and the thing froze up solid anyway. Turned out the heating element only kicks on above 20 degrees, which is the dumbest design I've ever seen for something sold as a winter waterer. Went back to my $12 black rubber bowl and swapping it out morning and night, never had a problem since. Anyone found a heated setup that actually holds up below zero, or am I just stuck doing the bowl swap forever?
