Serious question, why does everyone pushing the Wonderland Trail ignore the Northern Loop for a 3 day trip?

Did 93 miles around Rainier in 9 days last July and got rained on 6 of them, but my buddy knocked out the 34 mile Northern Loop out of Sunrise in 3 days with way better views of the mountain and half the permit headache, so can someone explain why the 93 mile loop is the one everybody fixates on?
