Pro tip: stopped relying on AllTrails ratings after getting stuck on a goat path in Colorado

Used to just pick whatever had 4.5 stars and go. Now I cross-reference with CalTopo and read the recent trip reports before any hike over 8 miles. Anyone else have a bad experience from a misleading trail rating?

Did you check" is the right call honestly... @taylor929 said the same thing about that bank being soft.

Read through them last night actually. Totally agree with the warnings about the trail being washed out past the second creek crossing. I went up there a few weeks ago and almost lost my footing cause the bank was so soft.
