Just realized the connector soak bucket at the hangar in Spokane taught me to label everything
I was working a King Air panel swap at a shop near the Spokane airport about 6 months ago, and we had this plastic bucket of solvent where everyone dropped dirty cannon plugs at end of shift. One guy grabbed what he thought was his BNC connector and it turned out to be a nearly identical one off a different harness, and we spent 4 hours chasing a phantom squawk that turned out to be two pins swapped in the wrong shell. After that mess the lead made us start tagging each connector with a little masking tape flag and a Sharpie number before anything hit the bucket. Sounds dumb and slow, but it saved me personally at least 3 rework jobs since then. The other half of it is I now take a phone pic of the routing before I pull a harness apart, even on short runs. Curious if other shops have a hard rule on connector tagging or if it's just whoever cares enough that day.
