Guess I'm the odd one out on open carriers after shipping my hatchback to Phoenix
Everyone on here swears by enclosed trailers, but I moved my Focus from Minneapolis to Phoenix last month on an open carrier for $780 and the car arrived looking the same as when it left. The only thing on it was a thin layer of dust, which came off at a car wash near my new place, and the driver even texted me photos at a rest stop in Kansas. I get why people pay double for enclosed if it's a classic or a show car, but for a daily driver the price gap just doesn't add up for me. Curious what you all think, is enclosed really worth it for a normal commuter car or is that fear of rock chips mostly overblown?
