Got roasted on a transport forum for saying 'enclosed is always worth it' and honestly they had a point
I shipped a Civic from Phoenix to Portland last spring and went with enclosed for $1,450 because I assumed open carriers were for beaters. A dispatcher on a Facebook group told me straight up that for a 12 year old daily driver, open at $850 would've been fine, and the 'enclosed only' advice mostly comes from people moving classics. I switched to open for my next move and the car arrived with zero damage besides normal road dust, so now I'm torn on whether enclosed is overkill for anything under $20k. Curious what the actual cutoff is for you guys.
