Vent: that $150 'discount' broker left my Civic sitting in a Kansas lot for 11 days
I moved from Denver to Columbus in March and went with the cheapest quote I could find online, $625 total. The broker told me pickup would happen within 48 hours, then went silent for a week while a dispatcher kept texting me about 'driver availability.' Turns out my car sat in a Kansas City lot for 11 days before a hauler finally grabbed it, and I had no clue where it was the whole time. I paid $150 extra for what the broker called priority scheduling, which apparently means nothing. When the car showed up it had 40 extra miles on it and a fast food wrapper in the back seat, so somebody clearly drove it around. What got me is that a $900 quote from a company with actual trucks would have been cheaper than the rental I needed for those 11 days. Has any of you ever gotten money back from a broker after a runaround like that, or do we all just eat it?
