Watched a local mechanic rebuild a transmission on YouTube and it totally changed my view on extended warranties
I was always the type who said extended warranties were a scam. Then I stumbled across this video from a shop in Austin where the guy tore down a 2015 Ford Focus transmission. He showed exactly how the clutches wear out around 60k miles and quoted $3,800 for a rebuild out of pocket. That video made me realize that for certain cars with known issues, a warranty can actually pay off. Ended up buying one for my 2022 Subaru last month just for peace of mind. Has anyone else had their mind changed by seeing what repairs actually cost?

Watched a buddy drop $4k on a CVT rebuild for his Nissan Rogue last year and that was all the convincing I needed. Ended up getting a third party warranty for my 2018 Honda CRV just to cover the turbo and transmission, still haven't used it but the peace of mind is real.
