Found a cracked vacuum line on a 2005 F-150 at a gas station in Tulsa

Stopped to fuel up and heard this hissing while the truck idled. Popped the hood, found a hairline crack near the PCV valve, and it was causing a rough idle and a check engine light for lean codes. Spent 20 minutes with electrical tape as a temp fix to get home, then replaced it for $8, but now I always listen for that whistle before touching diagnostics. Anyone else catch simple stuff like that just from ear alone?
