Warning: that $12 'paint match' trick at the auto parts store in Bakersfield cost me a full respray
Stopped by the counter at the AutoZone on Rosedale last Saturday and the guy talked me into a rattle can color-match for a customer's silver Camry bumper, swore it would be close enough for a blend. Sprayed a test card and it was three shades off, so I sanded it back and prepped the whole panel again. Everyone says rattle can touch-ups are fine for small stuff but on metallic silver that match is never right, and I ended up redoing the bumper and blending the fender for real. What do you guys do when the customer wants the cheap route and you know it will look bad in daylight?
