That one Tuesday where every panel seam decided to fight back
Had a day last month where nothing lined up. First job was a rear quarter on a 2017 Civic, replacement panel sat proud in the middle no matter how I clamped it. Spent 2 hours on fitment, ended up using a porta power to finesse the inner structure. Then the next car, a Silverado with a smashed bedside, the alignment holes were half a hole off. Usually those bolt right up. By 3pm I was ready to call it. But I slowed down, walked away for 10 minutes, came back and noticed the cab mount was tweaked on the Civic. Straightened that, panel dropped in like butter. The Silverado needed me to slot the holes a touch, which I hate doing, but it worked. Charged the customer $680 total for both, took 9 hours. Not a huge payday but that feeling when you finally crack it, you know? Anyone else have days where every second car is cursed and then it just clicks? Or is that just my luck.
It's like that everywhere though, right? You fight something for hours, then step back and suddenly the answer's staring at you. Same thing happens when I'm stuck on a video game or trying to fix a leaky sink at home. Walking away for ten minutes beats another hour of forcing it every time.
