Just realized I've taken over 10,000 photos of the same galaxy cluster
I was cleaning up my hard drive last night and ran a count on my M81 folder. It's been my main target for three years, just trying to get a cleaner shot each time. I never kept track, but seeing that number pop up felt crazy. It's a ton of data for one fuzzy patch of sky. Has anyone else gotten stuck on a single target for way longer than they planned?

That's not a folder, that's an obsession. Johnfoster is right about the fuzzy patches, but you've basically adopted that one fuzzy patch. It's like you're trying to get a picture of a cat in a dark room, but the cat is 12 million light years away and you've bought ten thousand different flashlights just to try and see its whiskers. At some point, the hard drive space alone could probably fund a small telescope.
