Just found out the Hubble Ultra Deep Field image took over 11 days of exposure
Honestly, I was watching a documentary on YouTube last night and they said the Hubble team pointed it at a tiny dark spot for 400 orbits. Tbh I always thought those deep field pics were just a few hours of work. Ngl it blew my mind that they spent almost two weeks on a single shot of basically nothing. Has anyone else had a fact about a famous space photo totally change how you see it?

The Pillars of Creation image is a composite of 32 separate telescope shots.

But that's how all space photos are made... it's still real.

Used to think composites were fake, but that detail makes it feel more real.
