Dropped $85 on a used tripod at a garage sale, and it got me through 3 years of comet shots
Back in 2019 I found a beat up aluminum tripod at a garage sale in Boise for $85. My old plastic one shook so bad that every star trail looked like a seismograph. This clunky thing weighs a ton but it holds my camera dead still for 30 second exposures. Now everyone uses phone gimbals and I feel like a dinosaur hauling it to the foothills. Anyone else still lugging old gear because it just works?
