Bought a $150 light pollution filter for my camera and it was a total game changer.
I live right outside Phoenix and could never get the Milky Way to show up right. Now the shots are so much cleaner. What other filters do you guys use for deep sky stuff?

My buddy had a similar win with a narrowband filter last year.

Yeah, that light pollution filter is a lifesaver. I tried to tough it out without one for way too long, ended up with a hard drive full of orange-brown "night" sky shots. Like @johns18 said, narrowband filters are the next level for emission nebulae. I grabbed a cheap OIII filter on a whim, and it pulled the Veil Nebula out of my suburban skyglow like magic. It's wild what it can do on a bright target. Makes me wish I hadn't wasted all that time on hopeless broadband targets from my backyard.
