The guy at the DMV who called my toddler a negotiation tactic
I was stuck in the line at the Oregon City DMV last Tuesday, my 2 year old screaming about a cracker, when the guy behind me starts laughing and says 'that kid has better leverage than my last lawyer.' He then spent 10 minutes explaining how he used his own kids' meltdowns to fast-track his license renewal by making the clerk feel sorry for him. Has anyone else had a stranger turn your worst public moment into a weird life hack?

Right? That guy basically invented a whole new parenting strategy just to skip a line. I remember once my kid had a full meltdown in the grocery store and some old lady started handing me coupons like we were in some kind of secret club. Honestly, kids crying is just the universal signal for "everyone help me out or get out of my way.
