Just realized I blew $1,200 on a home gym setup I used for 3 weeks
I got really into the idea of working out at home back in January, so I bought a rack, a bench, a bar, and about 300 pounds of plates. Total came to $1,200 and I was so sure this was the year I'd stop paying for a gym. Three weeks later the rack became a drying rack for towels and the plates got stacked in the corner of my garage. I sold the whole thing last month for $400, so I ate an $800 loss on a hobby I did maybe 9 times. The thing is, the gym was never the problem, I just hate lunging in my own garage with the door open. Anyone else buy a big setup like this and regret it, or did you actually stick with it?
Bought a $300 rowing machine two years ago that I used exactly four times before it became the world's most expensive clothes hanger. I mean, it's still in my living room, just sitting there judging me every morning while I drink my coffee. My cat sleeps on it now, so at least someone's getting use out of it. The worst part is I still pay for a gym membership too, so I'm basically donating money to two places that I don't go to. My garage plates are currently holding down a tarp, so good on you for actually selling yours instead of letting them collect dust forever.
