Am I the only one who just found out a queen bee lays 1,500 eggs a day?
I fell down a YouTube rabbit hole last night after my kid asked why bees never seem to sleep, and a beekeeping channel from a guy in Arkansas dropped that number on me. 1,500 eggs. Every single day during peak season. That's more than the population of my whole neighborhood, from one bug. I always figured the queen was just sort of hanging out while the workers did everything. Now I want to know how many of you got blindsided by a fact like this, and what was it?
