I used to think the 'lost city' stories from the Amazon were just tall tales

For years, I figured the idea of big ancient cities in the rainforest was just explorer fantasy. Then, a team using lidar in Bolivia found over 20 settlements connected by roads, some with pyramids. The proof was in the clear geometric shapes under the trees that you can't see from the ground. It totally changed my view on how many people lived there before Columbus. What's an archaeology find that flipped your thinking?

Wait, they found pyramids under the trees? Like actual pyramids in the Amazon? That's insane, I always pictured maybe some old walls or something, not full on pyramids. It's crazy how much we just don't know about the past because it's literally hidden. Makes you question everything you learned in school about the Americas before Europeans showed up.

Finding Göbekli Tepe made me realize civilization is way older than we thought.

Yeah, totally. Used to picture early humans just grunting in caves, but that site rewrites the whole timeline. Makes you wonder what else is buried out there.
