Bought a $600 stump grinder attachment, should've just rented

Picked up one of those PTO stump grinders for my compact tractor off marketplace, figured I'd save money on the 8 stumps in my back yard. The thing shook so bad it bent the driveshaft pin after the third stump and now I'm stuck with a broken attachment and a half-finished yard. Has anyone else had luck with the rental units from Home Depot or should I just pay a pro next time?
