TIL a 10 cent door switch on a dryer can save you a 150 dollar service call

I had a Whirlpool dryer that kept stopping mid-cycle, figured it was the heating element or the timer. After an hour of testing voltages with my multimeter, I found the door switch was just barely making contact. Has anyone else spent way too long chasing a simple fix like that before checking the cheap parts first?
