Stopped guessing at fridge temps with my hand, started using a $12 probe, and I'm not going back
I spent 9 years doing the hand-on-the-evaporator trick to check if a fridge was cooling right. Last month I did a call in Mesa where a guy swore his fridge was warm, and my hand said it felt fine, but the probe read 48 degrees inside. Turned out the thermistor was drifting and I never would have caught it by feel. The probe takes 30 extra seconds and it has saved me two callbacks since. Anyone else still trusting their palm over a real reading, or did you all switch a long time ago?
