Hot take: those CRT monitor rejuvenators are a waste of money

I kept hearing how a CRT rejuvenator could bring dead monitors back to life, so I bought a B&K 467 for $200 off eBay. Tried it on a Sony Trinitron from 1998 and it only made the picture worse after 2 cycles. Has anyone actually had good results with one of these things?

haha yeah I totally feel your pain! I grabbed a used BK 467 last year and my first try on a Dell P991 actually made the colors look worse too, I was so mad. You really gotta do like 6 or 7 cycles and let it rest between each one, not just two and call it quits. Also I learned the hard way that you gotta check the tube's emissions with the tester first and not just hit rejuvenate blind. If the tube's already shot it's not gonna help, but for weak tubes it's a lifesaver. I brought back an old Gateway VX700 that was super dim and it's been running great for months now after a proper session.

Whoa, hold up, I gotta disagree hard. I've brought back three dead monitors with my B&K 467, you just gotta be patient and run more cycles, not just two. Did you adjust the G2 voltage first or just blast it blind?
