Capacitor plague hit my 1998 stereo receiver, took 3 weeks to diagnose

I picked up a nice Yamaha receiver at an estate sale last month, worked fine for two days then started crackling on the right channel. Replaced the speaker wire, cleaned the volume knob, even swapped inputs. Finally opened it up and saw three bulged caps near the power supply. Ordered replacements on eBay, spent two weekends with a soldering iron, and it's back to clear sound now. Anyone else deal with the late 90s capacitor plague in their gear, or did I just get unlucky?
