Took me 4 weekends to figure out why my anime watchlist kept growing faster than I could watch
So last Saturday I sat down and actually counted my watchlist. 87 shows. I started it back in March thinking I'd knock out a few classics, and here I am 4 weekends later still adding stuff and finishing almost nothing. The problem was I kept treating my watchlist like a to do list. I'd open Crunchyroll, see 3 new episodes from this season, feel behind on the 6 shows I was mid way through, and then just close the app and watch a YouTube recap instead. What finally clicked for me was when my brother asked what I was even in the mood for, not what I owed. Turns out I was watching stuff out of guilt, like I had homework. So I deleted 40 shows off the list in one sitting. Kept the ones I actually think about during the day. Finished Frieren in 5 days after that. Now the list is 22 shows and I don't dread opening the app anymore. Does anyone else sort their list by mood instead of by season, or am I the only one who let a watchlist turn into a chore?
