Unpopular opinion: a roll of expired film from a yard sale in Ohio beat my fresh stock shots
Grabbed a 5 pack of Kodak Gold 200 at a yard sale in Dayton for $4, and the box said expired in 2007. I shot two rolls in my Pentax K1000 just messing around at a cookout and the colors came out warm and kind of dusty in a way I actually love. My fresh rolls from the camera store cost $14 each and honestly look flat next to them. I read online that you should add one stop of exposure for every decade past the date, so I metered at 100 ISO and every frame landed. The grain is bigger but that is kind of the point for me. Now I want to hunt down more old film, so where do you all find expired stock that has not been baked in a hot garage for 15 years?
