TIL spending $30 on a light seal kit for my old Minolta was totally worth it

Yeah but then I'd have to explain to someone like @johns18 why I spent $40 on a beater body that ended up having shutter issues anyway. At least with the seal kit I know exactly what I'm getting into. Plus the old foam was basically turning to dust every time I opened the back, so anything was an improvement. My finger is still finding little black specks from the old stuff a month later.

Are you sure you got the right one though? I've seen knockoff kits fall apart in a month and leave that nasty sticky residue everywhere. For the price of a good seal kit you could almost grab a beater body that's already light tight.
