The $15 shutter release cable that saved my hands on a cold shoot
Out shooting in Milwaukee last November and my fingers were dying trying to hold the camera steady at 1/4 second. Picked up a cheap generic cable release from a local shop for 15 bucks and honestly it made a huge difference, got way sharper shots of the river at dusk. I always thought those things were gimmicks but now I keep one in every bag. Anyone else find a cheap accessory that turned out to be a daily driver?

Funny how the dumbest-looking piece of gear ends up being the one you actually use. I bought a lens cap leash for five bucks thinking it was a joke, now I panic if I leave the house without it. Cold hands make you realize a lot of “gimmicks” are just survival tools.
