Stopped trusting my iPhone meter and started carrying a Sekonic L-308, night and day difference

For years I just eyeballed exposure on my Pentax K1000 or let the phone app do it, and half my rolls came back muddy or blown out. Bought a used Sekonic L-308 for $110 off a guy in Portland last fall and my keeper rate basically doubled on the first roll of Portra 400. Anyone else ditch the phone meter or am I just late to the party?
