My Bell & Howell projector lamp blew mid-reel at a family gathering

Setting up the old 8mm projector for my uncle's 70th in Des Moines, the bulb popped right as the birthday cake scene came on, so I grabbed a flashlight and narrated the whole last three minutes like a bad sports announcer until I found the spare under the passenger seat. Has anyone else had a projector fail at the worst possible time, or am I just the lucky one who now gets grilled about it every Thanksgiving?
