My shop's new checklist policy has us divided
I began using a checklist on every install and callbacks went down. Some guys argue it's too slow and we lose money.

That "lose money" argument is everywhere, isn't it? It's the same reason people skip reading instructions or don't clean their tools. You rush to finish the job now, but you end up wasting more time later fixing the mess. A good system feels slow until you realize how much time you were already losing on callbacks and re-dos.

Man, I see this all the time. I watched a guy set fence posts without checking the line first because he wanted to save an hour. Whole section was off by three inches, had to pull 'em all and reset. That one afternoon of "saved" time turned into a whole extra day plus new concrete. You just end up paying for it later.
