Thank you to that old A&P who told me to trust the smell test
Last Tuesday at the hangar in Dayton, a retired A&P named Sal watched me chase a fuel leak for 2 hours with a flashlight and a mirror. He finally said, 'Kid, your nose knows more than your eyes do.' I stopped, sniffed around the drain valve, and sure enough, there was a tiny weep I'd walked past three times. Anyone else had a senior guy save you with some weird, old-school trick that actually worked?
