Showerthought: The tool crib at the museum in Pensacola made me rethink my whole setup

I visited the Naval Aviation Museum in Florida and saw the original, simple tool kits they used for carrier deck work in the 40s, just a few wrenches and a hammer in a canvas roll. It made me realize my own box is overflowing with specialty tools I barely touch, adding weight and clutter for every job. Do you guys think we overcomplicate things with too much gear now?

Yeah, a woodworking blog I read called it "tool paralysis" once.

My buddy rebuilt an old motorcycle last year. He started with a huge socket set and all these fancy drivers. Halfway through, he switched to just three wrenches, a screwdriver, and a pair of pliers he found in his dad's garage. Said the simple tools forced him to understand the bike better. Finished the whole job with that little kit. Makes you wonder.
